China's Tire Exports Show Strong Growth in May 2025

Total rubber tire exports for the month reached 860,000 tonnes, marking an 11.5% increase year-on-year. This volume represented an increase of 70,000 tonnes compared to April 2025. The export value was approximately 15.178 billion yuan, rising 11.7% compared to the same period last year.

Within this total, exports of new pneumatic rubber tires amounted to 830,000 tonnes, growing 11.3% year-on-year. The export value for this category was about 14.562 billion yuan, up 11.6%. Measured by unit volume, exports of new pneumatic rubber tires reached 61.82 million units in May. This figure increased by 4.43 million units month-on-month and grew 9.7% year-on-year.


The data indicates a significant acceleration, with both export volume and value growth exceeding 11% year-on-year in May. This performance marks a reversal of the previous moderate growth trend, reflecting a recovery in overseas market demand – a positive development for the industry.

For the January-May period of 2025, China's cumulative rubber tire exports totaled 3.89 million tonnes, representing a 7.3% year-on-year increase. The cumulative export value was approximately 69.056 billion yuan, up 7.7%. Exports of new pneumatic rubber tires accounted for 3.75 million tonnes of this cumulative total, growing 7.0% year-on-year, with a value of 66.289 billion yuan (up 7.5%). In terms of unit volume, China exported a total of 288.63 million new pneumatic rubber tires in the first five months, an increase of 8.6% year-on-year.
